Gaspe vacation: August 12, 2014

This morning Kevin, Cam, Darcy and I walked to Lance a Corbeau (a cove). Cameron liked climbing the cliff he's heard Daddy talk so much about. Kevin and his brother used to climb it, grab the tree roots and swing on them. The cliff has eroded a lot since then. I took this pic of Cam, but after that I just couldn't watch.

There were a few tricky spots where we had to climb over rocks on the way there. We should have waited for the tide to go out a bit more, but it was an adventure.

On the way back the tide was out so far, we just walked on the beach or sea floor all the way.

While we were at the cove we saw 2 star fish.

The beach was soft, red sand. We could walk around and run into the water barefoot- the kids loved it.

In fact Cameron was so happy he took the time to thank Daddy for showing us the cove and thanked us for the whole trip. :-)

We saw snails, kildeer, ducks, cormorants, gulls...

On the way back Cam and Kevin walked waaaaaaay out. Because of the super moon the tides were exceptionally low. Thise to small dark spots in the picture below are Cam and Kevin. The smoke stacks in the background are in New Brunswick.

We went to Nouvelle for groceries and we went to see Rose-Eva, Kevin's cousin.  When we got back Rody's sister Kathleen and his 2 daughters, Jennyfer and Kate, were at the beach. Kate and Darcy are like long lost sisters! We all went swimming, even Kevin this time, it was very hot!

Charlo, Jess and the kids, Clara and Julien, came to the trailer for supper.

Rody came, too. Rody and Kevin made a big bonfire. After supper we had s'mores.

Jess, the kids and I lay on the beach with drift wood as a pillow and watched the sky. I saw 4 shooting stars, Darcy saw 6!!!
