Grade 2 gallop

The Last-day-of-Grade-2-Gallop!!

This morning I had to blow dry a pair of underwear for Darcy because the dryer's broken. I filled up her water bottle, only to discover that it is broken, too. Then we waited 15 minutes for a phantom school bus, so I drove Darcy (and the dog) to school. This is the picture I got. Darcy is impatient to get to school to see her beloved Miss MC for the last time this year. Darcy has had such a wonderful year!!

In memory of Theresa, the school decided to award grade two student with a Love of Life plaque.

DARCY WON IT!! I am so proud of her and so thrilled that Darcy is the very first recipient of Theresa's award. It would mean so much to Theresa that Darcy received it and I know it means a lot to Darcy. She said she was sitting there hoping it would be her because she loved Theresa, but she was sure it would be someone else.

I cut off the last names for privacy, so it cut off the quote. It read:
"A great teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart."
This is the plaque that will remain at school, with her name engraved on it.

Here is Darcy with her award. She's happy, but sad, too.

Mom and I took her out for lunch. Here's to the last day of school, which started off as a bit of an obstacle course, and ended wonderfully!

I found some pics the principal sent to me:
