Gaspe: Aug 10, 2014

This morning we tagged along with Rody as he went to bottle feed a calf.

We played baseball in the driveway.

Cam, Darcy and I picked critters at low tide. Cam found 2 crabs. Darcy and I found a flat fish and shrimps. We even saw a few shrimp eating a worm!

Jan 19, 2014: On the farm

We had a great afternoon at our friend's farm. Of course Darcy was smitten with all the barn cats!

Kevin brought home some "white gold" - milk straight from the cow!
The kids love it, too, but NOT me...I like my 2% (skim!) from the store just fine.

Some lovely red and white barn doors. Really like the colors and shapes.

BBBRRRRR!

Cameron really liked the cats, too.

Aaawwwww

Another aaaawwwwww

Kevin petting my friend. I got to milk her! Kevin helped milk all of the cows.
She tried to eat my scarf, licked my pants, jacket, hands, liked to be patted. She's very social!

Cute kitty

Lots of cows.

Cameron feeding Jersey Girl and Shy Girl

Darcy and Blackie, "her" kitten.

Darcy's favorite spot. I thought she was going to curl up and nap with the cats.

This calf and cat are friends. The calf licked the cats back for some time, all the while the cat leaning into it and purring.

Calf sucking on Darcy's finger. They are so cute.

Darcy feeding the cows. The first one with lots of white is my friend, again.

Cameron fed the cows on the other side of the barn.

This is Jersey Girl's back and Shy Girl. Jersey Girl is expecting a calf in a couple of months and I scratched her belly for her. She quite liked it, leaning into it and making little sounds. She would lick my hand if I stopped. While I was scratching her, Shy Girl would look at me over JG's back and seem really interested, almost jealous, but the second I'd reach out for her or walk toward her, she'd turn away. If I stood with my back to her she's look at me, even reach out and sniff, but if I turned around, she'd look away.

We had a great time and we all learned a lot!
