July 12, 2012: HOT!! Melissa!!

We all swam to the raft, even 2 year old Gabriel! Maya (5) tried Cameron’s kayak and is obviously a natural.  She paddled out to the raft, got on the raft and went fishing!  Cameron, Melissa and Maya kayaked over to the outlet bay. This was Cameron’s first time kayaking a long distance!

Maya is a fast learner!

After supper we all headed out to see The Fair Parade. My friend Tina, her husband and their 2 sons met us at the house, too.  As usual the parade was great. We got a t-shirt, drumsticks and lots of candies.

Back at the cottage we went for a boat ride and the kids all got a chance to be captain.

Our neighbor showed up at 10:30 pm and started doing renovations! Of course, the one night I have light sleepers spending the night he decides to show up and start hammering. Finally at 12:15 a.m. I went and said something, but he just started working at the other end of the house…until 1:45 a.m!!!!

I saw 2 flying squirrels at my bird feeder tonight. They are soooo neat and soooo adorable!! The last time I saw any was almost 10 years ago at my Dad’s cottage. I’m so happy to know there are still some around here.

Cameron, Darcy and I went for a play date with Erin and Rowan today.  It was Cameron’s first time at Erin’s house and he was quite taken with Cai, Erin’s Ringneck parakeet. Cai speaks, dances and gives kisses to his favorite humans. Cai is shy around children, but we were able to get him to show off a bit for Cameron!

Mommy raccoon and 4 babies visited my bird feeder tonight. Darcy was still awake so I took her outside to see them. The babies are soooo cute!
