Sunday July 31, 2011: Coffee, Sofia and a wedding

This morning Darcy got up bright and early as usual and came into our room. We let her climb in bed with us and the following dialogue ensued:

K: Darcy, can you go make some coffee?
D: No, I can’t

K: Why not?
D: I’m a little girl, I can’t make coffee and I can’t do dishes; I just play with toys.

Some other cute Darcy sayings:
“I catched him”
“he taked it.”
“Who are them?”
“Do them fit”
“Give it to he”

Johanne, Arthur and Sofia came over today; it was Arthur’s first time at the cottage and also the first tome Kevin and Arthur met. Sofia and Darcy play so well together. They both played in the water and tried to drive the boat. They even went swimming off the boat together.

Around 5:00 this afternoon, a cousin (whom I don’t know - I know her grandparents) got married at a neighbour’s house. The bride’s father drove her over from her grandparent’s cottage in his boat with “going to the chapel” playing and white balloons. Lucas and his dad were there, too, to take care of the boat as father and daughter walked down the “aisle”, a wharf!

Here comes the bride.

We watched the whole wedding from our wharf with Auntie Carol, Uncle Peter, Mr. & Mrs. Downing, and my mom.

Kevin starts his vacation!

Our whole end of the lake went quiet – no one was swimming except a dog that kept jumping in a few houses down, no water skiing, no boats except a handful of boats floating silently at a respectful distance.
Bride and Groom go on tour of the lake.

When it was finished the bride and groom went for a boat ride around the lake!  It was beautiful!
