Brownies 2017-2018
The first outing this year was an Alouettes football game.
F-18 Jets flew overhead before the start of the game.
The action was way down there.
The bus ride home.

Thursday helping Darcy prepare her bedroll for Sparks/Brownies sleepover to kick off March Break. (I went, too!)
We camped indoors for this sleepover. Here is Darcy in her tent.
We all participated in the Chocolate Challenge at the sleepover. If you ask me, this has been the best challenge so far! Here is Darcy with her version of a chocolate bar and wrapper.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Archaeology. The girls has to "dig" into the cookies to extract all the chocolate chips. Then they counted them and compared the results to their estimates.

I don't want to post pics of other people's children, so I am kind of limited. Here is one of the special guests we got to meet that night. We had the whole place ourselves from closing until it opened the next day. It was amazing (but I may have been more excited that the girls!)
We had a tour at night to see all the nocturnal animals. Only our two Ecomuseum guides has flashlights - at the front of the line and the back. They guided us and helped us find and see the animals that were awake. When we got back we all got ready for bed and then had a (nearly) midnight snack before going to bed. No tents this time, but we had a room all to ourselves.
We were woken up quite early by one of our guides. After a nice breakfast we all got dressed, packed our bedrolls and bags and got ready for our private tour of the diurnal animals!
The otters were the best part. We watched them wake up, stretch and start to emerge from their den. They were goofy and clumsy and just soooooo cute!

After a quick tour of the gift shop, we were all on our way home by 10 am!
At the advancement ceremony I was very surprised to receive a lovely thank you gift and a beautiful bouquet of flowers! I think I won "most sleepovers by a helper mom"...LOL!
Darcy received a very special award, a gift (the t-shirt above and a crocheted owl) and her Brownie Guider, Snowy Owl, made a lovely speech for her.
Darcy received the first award in our district for earning all 73 Brownie Badges! Way to go Darcy! We are all so proud of you!

Thursday once again helping Darcy with her bedroll - this time for Spring Camp.
As soon as school ended the last day of school we went home to change and pack the car for camp.

We all gathered in front of this high rock face for a group picture. Great setting.
How I got my guider name: Daisy. (Even though I am not a real guider). I wanted Dragonfly (how awesome would that be???) but it was already taken.
The older girls went canoeing and the younger girls went out in row boats. It was wonderful!
