Dear Darcy,

Nov 24-25, 2019: Tinsel came early this year when she heard about Eric. 

What are Flynn, Tinsel & Cherry Blossom up to?  

Saving cream snowmen on the bathroom mirror!

Tinsel made herself a treehouse for the Xmas tree.

Cherry Blossom and Tinsel used the line for Xmas cards to hang their clothes and..

has a bubble bath in marshmallows!

They made a mountain of pillows!

Decorated the chandelier with snowflakes and then used them like a swing.

Decorated the kitchen cupboards.

Made their own Xmas tree lot with cakes.

Christmas Eve 2015

A strange Christmas Eve, but magical nonetheless.

Tigger allowed Darcy to dress him up like a king in a crown and a robe.

It was 18 degrees C, no snow and no ice on the lake, but very high winds.

The power was out at Mom's from about 2:30-6:30 (which actually is pretty good considering how busy the linesmen were AND it was Christmas Eve)

The table all lit up with candles (I added all the sparkles afterwards)

Beautiful ~full moon rising over the lake.

The power came back after we had eaten a cold supper, but it was a great cold supper...all stuff that is supposed to be cold! 

Darcy had fun playing with Uncle Bum.

Nanna gave Darcy an early Christmas present...this amazing light-up snow globe snowman.

Big hugs and thank you's for Nanna!!!

Nanna's tree and there are already lots of presents!

Back at home Darcy was too tired to put out milk and cookies for Santa, so I did it for her and took this picture for her. It was also Tinsel's last night with us.

Tinsel's many adventures AKA Elf on the shelf 2015

Day 1: Snowman party! 

Day 2: Tinsel gets held up by the nutcrackers, they must have thought she was up to no good.

Day 3: Snap, Crackle...Tinsel?!

Day 4: Tinsel and Flynn the reindeer thought my Halloween mice needed to be turned into Christmas mice! 

Day 5: Darcy got some candy canes at the Santa Claus parade last night and Tinsel used them to ski down the banister. Flynn was at the bottom, arms outstretched, ready to catch her.

Day 6: Tinsel, Flynn and a Teddy bear found a festive use for all our TP rolls!

Day 7: Tinsel went around collecting some of my decorations and made this lovely display!

Day 8: think Miley Cyrus, Wrecking ball

Day 9: I guess Barbie had too many candles going, but Tinsel came to the rescue with the old firetruck.

Day 10: Tinsel decorated our kitchen cupboards.

Day 11: Laundry day. 

Day 12: Crazy 8's. I don't think Tinsel got that hand by chance!

Day 13: Tinsel must have liked my "Naughty or Nice Tree" from the bookclub party. She refilled the empty cups and decorated the game!

Day 14: Tinsel feels sorry for us not having any snow yet. 

Day 15: Tinsel gave 8 of Darcy's Zhu Zhu oets antlers and hatnessed them to her "sleigh". Flynn took on the role of Rudolph. When we got home from school that night I went to help Darcy put away the toys and I pressed the button on all of them. It was so silly! I forgot how much fun it is to play...and how quickly time passes when you're having fun.

Day 16: Tinsel used Darcy's barrettes,  hair bows and ribbons to dress and do her hair!

Day 17: Tinsel and Flynn went fishing.

Day 18: Tinsel and Flynn got into Darcy's magazines and cut out all the activities for Darcy.

We went to my mom's for Christmas Eve.

 

  The spread at Nanna's house:  (and that's before supper!)

  I think Darcy's favorite was the bread bowl with the spinach dip in it. I love the bacon-wrapped water chestnuts!

  

Grandmaman and Darcy got some early Christmas presents.

Lovey loved the beautiful pointsetia Mom received from Cecile.

Cam was with his mom. We picked him up before midnight, so we could all be home and ready for bed in time for Santa to come.

it is so amazing to see the magic of Christmas alive in Darcy...of course I believe in it, too!!!

The plate of cookies with a note and elf doughnuts for Tinsel. I ended up having to move them to higher ground as Eric (the cat) kept trying to drink Santa's milk.

I heard a noise as I was going to bed and ran outside just in time to see Santa and his reindeer take off  from our roof.

Bye Tinsel! Bye Santa! 

Sure enough, he had been there and left lots of presents!
