Sofia's 1st birthday & Darcy's 1st Tattoo! (July 18 - 40 weeks)

Darcy's recent accomplishments:

-Crawling for about 1 week

-Walking a little holding an adult's hands

-Standing up by herself, holding onto something (furniture)

-Beginning to understand simple instructions

-Likes emptying and filling containers

Today we went to Sofia's 1st birthday party. This is not Darcy's 1st birthday party, but it is her first 1st birthday party! Sofia was adorable with her long hair (we are jealous) and her sweet dress. She can walk all by herself...hopefully Darcy will by her 1st birthday, too...and she can sign some words, like putting her hands together and flapping like wings to sign "butterfly" - how clever!

Darcy's 1st tattoo - a temporary one - is Tigger!

While Sofia opened her gifts, Darcy played with the wrapping paper and tissue paper...until Sofia opened a toy telephone and then she realized there were toys over there!

The food was DELICIOUS. Darcy tried watermelon for the first time and loved it! She had fun crawling and standing up using Sofia's walker toy in the back yard and she really liked Sofia' books that make noise and music! (Note to self...) We had a blast playing with Sofia and Lukas and went home tired, but happy!

Unfortunately, I made a misjudgment bringing Darcy milk in a cooler on a hot, sunny afternoon. Just as we were settling in to nurse Darcy to sleep, she sat up and threw up all over herself, me, the chair, the floor...then she was happy as could be! I assume she had sour milk, as she did not have a tummy ache and did not throw up again. Live and learn!
