Darcy had q baseball tournament this morning. Despite playong really well, the best so far the season, her team lost. When we got back home we packed up, loaded up the cats a d headed to the lake.
Yesterday I snapped my glasses in half. I managed to drive home balancing the two peices on my cheeks and get to the eye doctor before it closed for the long weekend. They couldn't fix my glasses but they did give me a pair of contacts to get me through.
Just as we got to the lake and started to cart down our bags, it started to rain. Luckily it cleared up in time for us to go to the fire works.
Darcy got to climb in a big army truck and she said, "Thank you" to some of our brave military personnel.
The fireworks were amazing as always, but eerily beauitful, even magical in the low lying fog. The "pow" was muffled by the fog, so they were quiet. Then there was a series of lower shots and they left behind a column of smoke. The rest of the fireworks exploded behind the smoke and highlighted it. You could see this ephemoral tower of black in the middle of colorful mist.
As we got to the car it rained again and boy! Did it it rain! As we drove home I could only see a few feet in front of me. When we finally pulled in the driveway I could see right away that the power was off. Before we got out of the car the lights came on and the rain eased off a bit. Wow! We had a bit of luck today!
