Sept 4: Bum's birthday and black swans

On September 4th Bev, Shannon, Darren, Jeff and Rudy came to visit. It also happened to be Uncle Bum's birthday.

Right after we sang Happy Birthday, 2 (rare!) black swans swam along the shoreline. This is everyone gawking at them.

Here are the 2 beautiful black swans. This was the first and last time I saw them on our lake. They are a species that originates from Australia! This pair must have escaped from private owners, as they are not well adapted to our cold winters.
