Saturday August 4, 2012: REGATTA

REGATTA

Cameron and I kayaked to the beach; Darcy and Kevin went in the boat. Peter and Marina met us there. Jeff, Jacob, Sam and Olivier were already there.  We pretty much spent the entire day at the regatta.

Darcy and Jacob did the treasure hunt, which was digging up coins in the sand.

Cameron won 3rd place in swimming for his age group. We are very proud of this accomplishment ad last year he was afraid of the water. Cameron worked hard (most of the time) at swimming lessons over the winter and what a pay off!
Cameron is on the right.

Darcy and Jacob swam in the 6 and under race. There were only 3 contestants, so they all placed.

Marina, Olivier, Cameron and our neighbor’s son and his friend made a war canoe team and they came in 2nd!!!

The kids got their faces painted and ate corn on the cob.

Puppy Darcy
They especially enjoyed swimming at the beach all day. I was a little frazzled continually counting heads in a crowd, in the water, but they had a great time.
Marina - what a beautiful girl!

Sam kayaked back with me while Cam got a ride back in the boat.  I was very glad to be home and sit in the shade for a while!

Seeing many more frogs!

Shortly after we got home Gillian, Mandy and Myrna came down for a swim. We all went over to mom’s and swam. For some reason the kids found the BIG rock under mom’s raft very interesting. I always hated it until I was brave enough to clean the slime off with my feet.

F&%$ING HOT!!! At 9:00 it was still 28 degrees in the cottage.

The polar bear puzzle is finally done...and missing 4 pieces!
