Swim Days with CPAC (Aug 13 & 15)

On August 13 we (Kevin, Angie, Cameron & Darcy) went up to Auntie Carol's to try out the slip n' slide with Mia & Colby. Cameron didn't seem to quite get the idea, so Kevin showed him how it's done!!

Darcy and I didn't try the slip n' slide, but we had fun our own way! For Darcy that meant eating and making a mess :-)

Later that day Charla & Amelia walked down to the cottage. Amelia found some neat rocks on their way. Mia and Cameron had a blast playing in the water with Kevin! Charla & I played with Darcy in the water and on the wharf.
On Saturday, when Paul came up north, we had another fun swim day!

Charla took Colby for a ride in the kayak and I guess he really liked it, as he fell asleep!

I've never had this many people on my wharf!

Colby & Darcy playing with buckets of water and toys.

Is it a crab??? No!!! It's Amelia!

It's so wonderful that all the kids get along. Cameron loves to play with Amelia and often asks if we are going to visit with her. Even though Cameron speaks mostly French and Mia speaks mostly English, they understand each other! So far Colby and Darcy like to play together, too. I foresee at some point Colby and Cameron becoming closer buddies, especially when Mia & Cameron hit the stage where "no girls allowed" and "boys are smelly". Amelia is sweet with Darcy and shows her how her toys work and Darcy watches her with awe.

Swim day with CPAC...more like rain day - what else is new?

The Saturday of the fair CPAC (Charla, Paul, Amelia, Colby) came to Lakefield in order for us all to attend the fair together. Just like every other day, it rained, but just to be a little different, it poured! So we stayed at the cottage and played with kids.

This is Charla when she arrived. A few hours later there was a river running down here.

Saturday night we ordered pizza and we had supper at Charla's parents' house (they were away) with Chriss & Chris and CPAC. Paul made Lynchberg Lemonade (dangerous stuff!) for all of us and we watched cartoons with the kids.

On Sunday we tried to make something out of the day. It was gray, but not so cold, so we tried to go swimming. Amelia was the only brave one. Cam had on his swim trunks and life vest, but despite all of Amelia's "vien Cameron, vien", he just would not go in the water! Darcy did some tentative crawling on the wharf, and that was about it for her lake adventure today.
