On February 6th Darcy and I went to spend some time outdoors enjoying the snow with Melissa and her family. Cameron was invited to come with us, too, but he ditched Darcy and I at the last minute for his daycare sweetheart, Coralie. It must be true love. .

Before we left Melissa's house we made a snowman in the front yard. Then we walked over to the sliding hill. These pictures are of Maya and her daddy, Jason going down the hill. Maya is very brave and loves going really fast down the hill!

This is the only picture of Gabriel I got. He was not quite as adventurous as his big sister. Darcy fell somewhere in between. We went down the hill together a couple of times and she really liked it. Then on the next trip we both fell off and I rolled over top of her. Don't worry she was not hurt at all, but she got snow in her face and then she'd had enough. She was brave enough to go one more time on a bigger, sturdier sled with Melissa and Gabriel and she liked it. "It not bumpy."

After the hill we walked back to Melissa's, had a snack and then went to a winter carnival nearby. Darcy had a lot of firsts there! The picture above is her first time in a bouncy house. She was able to go through about half of it. I can predict her favorite thing at the fair next summer!

Here is Darcy on skates (cheese cutters) for the first time! She didn't last long at it, but I got a smile out of it. Next time we need to try it first - not at the end of a fun, but tiring, day.

Here is Maya skating with Marc-Andre. She is a pro!!! Maya and her friend stayed a bit longer than us to go back in the bouncy houses. We had a long drive home, so we started back to the car. At one point I picked up Darcy to get over a difficult patch of snow and she just fell asleep! I had to carry her (and our skates) all the way back to the car. Now mommy wanted a nap, too.
